The Gate to Calais

I love Hogarth. This particular picture is called The Gate to Calais, or The roast beef of old England. I adore the fact that how ever many times you look at one of his scenes, the next time you go to look at it, you see something else, that you didn't notice before.... He had absolutely no time for the French either.
