I refuse to celebrate St Patricks Day...and not because I have anything against the Irish (The nicest members of Stews family live in County Meath)...however, I am not Irish. I am English. Or at least, live in England. Why do we not celebrate St Georges Day? Why is it, the only time we see a St Georges flag out is if England are playing football? Quite sad really.
So, Happy St Patricks Day to the Irish. I will be eating Kendall Mint Cake, English Muffins and Strawberries and Cream, all washed down with Pimms.
And trying not to dream of Magners Irish Cider.

I agree wholeheartedly, Clank. I know I have ancestors who came from many places, including Ireland. But I'm American, and I'll not adopt a false accent or doll myself up in green frillery once a year.

I still love you

Hahahaha Emma....do you have Irish descendants? Or are you jumping on the Band Wagon from the Emerald Isle?
I started researching my family tree about a year ago (albeit very haphazardly and lethargically) and found that my mothers family were mostly Welsh.
Although, thankfully, I can find no connection to Tom Jones.
Roger...come and sit by me.
oh agreed, Clank, that would be humiliating.
I'm with you absolutely 100%. Why is it that, if we fly our own flag, we are labelled racist? We must be so soft. No other country would stand for it.
Oh dear... you've got me on my hobby horse now!
Fantastic Marian! Hobby horses and Soap Boxes are the best places in the world to be :oD
