Gobbolino

Today, Dizzy is going to school for her first hour. They show them round I would imagine, let them play etc. She's not even four yet. She is well ready for school. I, on the other hand am not ready to let her go. I bought a book at the car boot on Sunday called Gobbolino the Witches Cat by Ursula Moray Williams. I loved this book as a child, and think it is only fair I force all my well loved childrens books onto my daughter. I have already bought her AA Milnes poetry books and a complete set of the Magic Faraway Tree books.

My lovely auntie val gave me that honeysuckle...it was tiny with two shoots two years ago. It is huge now, but I am lucky enough to have a south facing garden.

Am back from the school hour. She was fine, I felt sick. I don't know how on earth I will cope with all the playground politics and the mothers and stuff.

Why don't they go to school Jilly? Do they not want to go or don't you send them at 4 in the US? Do their parents not make them go?Lizzy isn't 4 til the end of June.

Thanks Emma :o)

clank,

my trailer trash sister thinks school is where crazy liberals teach little children to have sex in the bathroom and barinwash kids into only liking evil liberal ideals, so she isn't sending her kids to school. i wouldn't mind it if she was teaching them at home, but she can't be bothered to get off her large ass and spend time with her kids, so they mainly watch tv 8 hours a day.

don't worry, the government makes all 8-year-olds take a test to see if they can read, and if they can't, then my sister gets into trouble. they ignore the fact that if you don't learn pre-reading skills between the ages of 3-5, then you have a 60% chance of either remaining illeritate or only achieving functional literacy for the rest of your life.
