Red White and Bl....Beige

Ok. Here is the thing. We have brought the corner sofa back from Ikea and we have bought 2 sets of white washable covers for it. It is still in wrapping in my garage. However, I am having big second thoughts as friends tell me that we won't be able to read a newspaper near it, wear hairspray/mouse/gel anywhere near it and that dye will come off peoples clothes onto it. I am expecting you to decide...Here are your options.
Please note, our walls are magnolia and the carpet is a dark oatmeal.

Scotch Guard it and buy the color you like--life's too short. Get what you love!

Personally I wouldn't go for white it's too sterile for my liking. If you want to keep it light beige is probably the best option but the red would add a dash of colour... at the end of the days its up to you and Stu.

you can't tell her to get what she loves because she;s so fucking anal no one will be allowed to sit on it and poor bloody stu may not even get to be in the same room as it once the footy season starts

Love Love Love the Red...what is a magnolia color? I'd paint the walls if need be to compliment the red..one tiny stain will stand out on the white and you'll always focus on that. The beige is just too dull for your sparkly personality and Stews tattoos. Go Red.

if you get white, cover it in plastic and live like an old woman. if you get red, you can sit on it and not worry.

I like the red too, although it definitely wouldn't match magnolia walls...i think magnolia is pink, right? Or is it a shade of yellow? If it's yellow, it will match just fine. If it's not pink, buy a throw with red/magnolia in it, and it will blend together.

schell, magnolia is an offwhite color. in the southern US magnolias are big white flowers. in the north, they are a dark pink flower that gradually fades to white towards the middle of the petal. since clank doesn't like color, i take it her walls are an offwhite color instead of pink.

I'd go with red, but your best bet is probably to find covers that match your girl's favorite thing to drink.

Don't let them scare you. I had white couches for 15 years and through 7 nieces and nephews all grimy and such and two cats with dark hair. When I got rid of them, they were completely unstained. Get them scotchguarded and they'll be fine. Also, there are things out there that remove spots, etc.

Nothing lasts forever. If you didn't have a daughter to consider, you might have a dog or even sloppy friends. Go with the color you like and live with whatever comes along. If you don't spend a fortune, you can always refinish/recover/re-purchase down the road, but you'll have lived with what you loved in the interim.

I think the red is bold and beautiful.

I am the last person who one would logically ask for decorating advice. But, get what the heck you want, and if it gets dirty, it's furniture.

Just remember, whatever you wear near it or read near it..........the filth will still be there (deposited) whatever colour it is.

Kindest regards, Adrian
