What would you do...?

My father was adopted when he was two years old. He, and most of his adoptive family are dead, he has one living sister (not blood sister, lovely lady). I have recently found out the name of his real mother. She was born in 1917, so unlikely to be alive. But might well have some descendants or other relatives that are. Would you delve further or leave well alone?

i agree with alex but that's because i don't know my real father but i know 2 of his relations, and from what i know of them, they aren't worth the effort. being adopted by my dad was probably one of the better things to come my way. your secret family might be better than mine though. good luck with it.

I agree with meme, unless the mother is fantastically rich. IN that case I'd meet her and lay a guilt trip on her to pony up some dough.

We found the christening certificate of all things, so I phoned the church. No fathers name, but the name of the mother, what I presume is a sister too, and a friend who were godparents. I don't think I can just leave it. I am way too nosy.

I would go for it. Like you, I'd be way too nosy to let it rest.
